Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 17, 2026

Atlas Express Company ("Atlas Express," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, why we use it, when we share it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our website, phone calls, text messages, and freight services.

01. Types of Data We Collect

  • Contact information: name, company name, phone number, and email address
  • Shipment information: pickup and delivery locations, dates, commodity, weight, and pallet count
  • Billing information: billing contact and details needed to invoice and collect payment
  • SMS consent records: whether you opted in to text messages, and when and how you did so
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed on our website

02. How Data Is Collected

  • Online forms: when you submit a quote request on our website
  • Phone and text: when you call, text, or speak with our dispatch
  • Email: when you send us shipment details or paperwork
  • Paperwork: bills of lading, rate confirmations, and delivery receipts
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files your browser stores to keep our website working and help us understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

03. Purpose: How We Use Your Data

  • To respond to quote requests and confirm rates
  • To schedule, dispatch, and deliver your freight
  • To send pickup, delivery, and shipment updates by phone, email, or text (text only with your consent)
  • To issue invoices, bills of lading, and proof of delivery, and to handle billing inquiries
  • To meet legal and regulatory requirements, including FMCSA and USDOT rules
  • To answer questions and improve our website and services

04. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when needed to provide our services or meet legal obligations:

  • Shipping parties: the shipper, receiver, or broker on your load, so it can be picked up and delivered
  • Service providers: companies that help us run our business, such as email, form, text messaging, telematics, accounting, and payment providers. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Insurers: if there is a cargo or accident claim
  • Legal requirements: government agencies or courts when required by law

Mobile Information & SMS Consent

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in information, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.

05. Text Messaging (SMS)

If you opt in to receive text messages from Atlas Express Company, we use your phone number only to send the types of messages described in our SMS Terms & Conditions. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply.

06. Data Retention & Security

We keep quote requests for up to two years, and shipping and billing records as long as tax and transportation regulations require. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, though no system is completely secure.

07. Information From Other Sources

We may receive information about you from others involved in a shipment, such as freight brokers, load boards, shippers, and receivers. This usually includes contact names, phone numbers, and pickup or delivery details needed to complete the load. We handle that information under this policy.

08. Emails and Phone Calls

We use your email address and phone number to reply to your requests and communicate about your shipments, quotes, and invoices. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask to hear from us. You can ask us to stop non-essential emails at any time by replying to any email or contacting us. We may still send messages required to complete a shipment or collect payment.

09. GPS, Electronic Logging & Shipment Records

Our truck uses GPS and an electronic logging device (ELD) as required by federal hours-of-service rules. Location data is tied to the truck and load, not to website visitors. We may share a load's location and estimated arrival with the shipper, receiver, or broker on that load. Driver logs and shipment records are kept as long as FMCSA regulations require.

10. Cookies & Do Not Track

Our website uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to function and to understand basic site traffic. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising, and we do not allow advertising networks to track you on our site. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common standard for these signals, our site does not respond to them differently, but we do not engage in cross-site tracking.

11. Third-Party Services & Links

Our website forms are delivered through a secure form-to-email service, and our website may load fonts or code from trusted providers. Our site may also link to other websites, such as the FMCSA SAFER system. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, so please review their policies before sharing information with them.

12. How We Protect Your Information

  • Website forms are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections
  • Access to customer information is limited to people who need it to handle your shipment or account
  • Accounts and devices that hold customer information are password protected
  • Paper records are stored securely and shredded when no longer needed

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we learn of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

13. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Update or correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete your personal information, unless we must keep it by law
  • Opt out of text messages (reply STOP) or emails at any time

To make a request, call (952) 777-7178 or email dispatch@atlasexpressco.com. You can also use our contact form and choose "Privacy or data request." We may verify your identity first and will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

14. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, state laws (such as those in Minnesota, California, and other states) may give you additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to request a copy in a portable format, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and you may appeal our decision on any request by contacting us again with the subject "Privacy Appeal."

15. Business Customers & Brokers

Much of the information we handle belongs to business contacts, such as shipping managers, dispatchers, and broker representatives. We use this information only to do business with your company, and it is covered by the same protections described in this policy.

Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
